"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Easy 8. Mostly cloudy, low 60 temps, light winds out of the West. 2:30 PM. We drove to the Mystery Field track with the dogs. I did 3 easy miles there while the dogs played and my wife ran too. Then she drove them home and I finished my run on the roads. 8:45 avg.

Nice family outing. Is your wife a runner too, or was this a new thing for her?

She's run off and on over the years. Her thing is basketball. And more basketball. And then a little more basketball for good measure.

Dogs would just play at the track, wouldn't they? I imagine they would be completely befuddled as to why we run round and round the track.

That is cool that you can run near your dogs like that. We have a dog park near here but I haven't taken my dogs...I don't trust the other dogs around here. Plus I figure with three dogs it is like they have their own littlepark! LOL

The whole family! How nice!
