"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

You've really got a high mileage year this year. Great job.

From JD on Tue, Nov 29, 2011 at 12:28:11 from 70.96.78.149

Thanks Carolyn. i might beat 2009 miles which were 2678 - ish. not bad considering i basically took this summer off. i'm really hoping i can keep it up and log a lot of miles in 2012.

Dang you're getting fast. Good job JD

What races are you thinking about for 2012?

From JD on Tue, Nov 29, 2011 at 13:28:40 from 70.96.78.149

Thanks Lysa

Scott - i haven't got any specific races planned but i'm hoping to get in at least one race a month - any suggestions?

From Scott Wesemann on Tue, Nov 29, 2011 at 13:31:54 from 205.158.160.209

What distance are you looking at? I have some really good suggestions for trail races.

From JD on Tue, Nov 29, 2011 at 13:48:59 from 70.96.78.149

Scott - i'll probably do mostly half marathons or less - with one or two well timed marathons mixed in. i'm a little burned out on trails lately (as evidenced by my utter lack of any trail running whatsoever during the last half of this year!), but there's is a trail 10k in centerville during the summer that i might try. how about you - any ultras planned?

From Scott Wesemann on Tue, Nov 29, 2011 at 14:04:37 from 205.158.160.209

I have a few ultras in mind, but nothing concrete yet. I think I'll run a few halfs as well and I doubt I'll do any road marathons.
