Nevels - the secret is to start at a crawl, then it's easier to work yourself down to mediocrity.

Nice progression. Does that acceleration happen naturally, or do you make a conscious effort to speed up?

I second what you say about starting slowly. I start way slower than you do.

Carolyn - I think your warm up times are such because of the fact that you usually run so much earlier in the morning than I do. I think it makes a difference, because when I do manage to get out on a run by, or before 6 AM, my first few miles are significantly slower than usual.

Lysa - what do you mean what's that supposed to mean?
