"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

7 miles / 58:52 / 8:24 avg. The only way I was going to get a run in today was on the treadmill at home; and so it is.  Made up a mini workout to keep me going:

2 mi. wu @ 8:55 pace

2 miles @ 7:54, 7:42

1/2 mi. easy (9:15 pace?)

1 mile @ 7:30

1.5 cd @ 8:51 pace.

You have a boom box? Are you from the 80s?

How many days in a row are you going for? Nice TM run, that takes such motivation to do that staring at a wall for that long. Good job

Carolyn - haha! Yes I'm from the eighties, and so are you!

Lysa - I hope to run everyday in September.

Is that good for you? I mean, I think its awesome and motivated and a bit crazy, but doesn't your body need to rest a bit?

From JD on Fri, Sep 10, 2010 at 12:24:35 from 70.96.78.157

Last year I had a streak of 46 days, and my training was going so well. There's some element of strength achieved in running everyday if you don't over do it. It's not much different than running 6 days a week, but on the "rest day" maybe just run 2 or 3 miles. Many runners run everyday.

gotcha. Well I think you are amazing to do it. So much ambition and strength.
