"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

15.4 miles / 8:56 avg. Extended lunch run, from work. Sunny, temps low to mid 70's. Anytime I run from work means I'm running some hills. Today was about 1,650 ft. up/down,  which is great for fitness, not great for pace. Really glad to get this run in before the month ends so as to get my minimum 200 miles for the month. Water stops at miles 7, 9, and 12. Gu at 10 mile.

So when you say water stops, do you mean you literally stop for a minute and drink? I think your average is awesome for a hilly run. Good Job on your amazing mileage!

The first two water stops were a water fountain at a park, the third at a jr. high school. I stop for as short amount of time as possible so I don't stiffen up.

Wow 200 miles! you are a machine! and I'm jealous of all the foundtains you have near you!

Thanks April. But the fact of the matter is, 200 is the minimum amount I want to do. Having missed 10 days this month, I'm just glad to have reached 200, and surpass it by 5 hundredths of a mile! Lol!

Hopefully my Slacker Summer is ended.

As for water fountains, it's amazing how they suddenly start appearing out of nowhere when you're a runner.

I am definitely having a slacker summer as well. I thought I would have been well over 100 for the month of August like I was last year for my fall 1/2 and that just didn't happen...I hope I get this cough figured out at the doc tonight!
