"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

6:30 am. Ran from the house up Farmington canyon, along the fire break road and back. Didn't know what I'd do this morning but ended up feeling good so I made the climb, 500 ft in the first mile and a half, then lots of up and down for four miles, along the  fire break rd, then back down the canyon, then weaving through the neighborhood so I could get enough distance in to make my first 40 mile week! Yeah baby!

This is three weeks in a row running six days a week. I've increased my mileage from 25/wk to 40/wk. So I think I should make next week an easy week. Still running six days, but cutting back a little on the mileage.

I hope to stay motivated enough to keep laying down base throughout the Winter and coming out strong next Spring.

I went from 5 days to 6 days this summer, and it has made a huge difference. Most notably, I warm up faster. I hope your runs go as well. Best wishes!

Thanks Snoqualmie! Yeah, I've noticed benefits to running six days a week, after only three weeks. Foremost is my attitude toward running in general. It seems that I'm already noticing improvement in my aerobic conditioning as well, if that's possible.

Thanks for commenting, we both seem to be at a bout the same level of fitness currently, and have similar goals. Keep up the great training!

Oops Snoqualmie! Except you're running a lot more miles than I am. Good Job!
