"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

gimmie 10! Why is tomorrow so special? And how is your mouth? Do you think the lortab had anything with you feeling great today??

Everyday is special :-).

I just think a good test of fitness is how well you recover from one day to the next. Anybody can go run ten miles, but how do they feel the next day, (taking into account what kind of ten miler they ran of course; fast, slow etc.)

My mouth is still quite sore from the trauma inflicted on it yesterday. Trauma sounds extreme, but that's what it is. I forget the name of the procedure, but it's where the dentist removes the infected/dead tissue from the area around the problem tooth. Then he filled the gap as a temporary fix until the root canal in a couple of weeks. After the numbness wore off yesterday, well it felt worse than when I went in. But this morning, while it still hurts, I can tell it's improved. Now, after the run, after the endorphins wear off...we'll see.

During today's run I wondered if the lortab I took yesterday was having an effect on me today. Not sure. I took the last one around 10 PM.

It's been about a half hour since I stopped running and I'm still not feeling the onslaught of pain like I have the last week or so after running. So maybe the fix is making a difference

Sorry about the dental work! I do think the drugs are still acting on you. Is tomorrow a longer run?

From JD on Fri, Jun 10, 2011 at 18:16:31 from 70.96.78.149

Maybe it's the antibiotics. I have a feeling that these dental issues have been affecting my overall health more than I thought.

OH MY! Sounds like a dental nightmare!!!

Nice job on the successful run, I do so hope tomorrow is even more splendid for ya!
