Ran at 11:00 AM on the legacy park trailway. Mostly sunny, 68 degrees, light breeze, and a whole lotta people, the most I've ever seen on the parkway trail. Mostly bikers, maybe a half a dozen runners. I'm sure the smart runners got out early this morning before it warmed up.

Was finally able to run at my normal pace again. After 5 miles I did 10x1 minute w/1 min.easy @7:15-7:45 pace. During the easy minutes though I slowed down so much that my average pace for the run wasn't enhanced by the effort. Still good to move the legs a little faster, get the heart beating a little harder.

Um, I only hold that pace for a minute during those intervals...then I run easy for a minute then do another minute at that pace...and repeat 10 times.

My average pace for today's run was 8:38. On any given day, I'm more than happy to run 10 minute miles if that suits you too.

Seriously though, we'll have to plan an early Saturday morning run soon. Maybe the pipeline trail in Millcreek canyon or something.

Funny story---we were driving to Ogden today at about 1:00 and we drove on the Legacy Highway. I have never been on it before. I kept commenting on the trail by the highway (and how many bikers were on it---TONS, only saw one runner) and how long it was. So, where does that trail start and end and how long is it? I have to venture down there one day to run, it looked very FLAT! Is it??? Anyway, I really want to run it, but have no clue how to get to it!

Thanks Carolyn, I like the short intervals too. It's a good workout that's easier to wrap my mind around than say, long tempos or something.

Kelli - I knew it sounded wrong when I wrote it out. The 7:15-7:45 were my "fast" minutes.

Yeah that legacy parkway trail is awesome for running. It's got some very slight rolls on it. It starts in Farmington and runs South to North Salt Lake (I think). It's about 14 miles long! It's only a mile from my house too. Let me know if you decide to come out here sometime to run it and I'll join you!

WOW---you are so lucky to have that right by your house. It looked like a great trail! I did notice some rolling hills, but nothing too major. So, are their little parks along the way with bathrooms and drinking fountains?

Bathrooms and water fountains. What a novel idea! But no...I've heard rumour though that there is some funding being scraped together for some bathrooms.
