"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

9:00 AM. From the house to LPT out and back. Sunny, 58F, light wind. Beautiful conditions.

I felt just okay today, and things were going well until about mile 14 then I just sort of bonked. Don't know what happened...I couldn't have stuffed any more carbs into myself yesterday...hope to get this figured out by Sept. marathon.

Congratulations on your beautiful conditions. Send them this way.

Sorry to hear you bonked, but great run anyway.

that sucks, i hate it when i bonk. maybe you need to CHILL OUT a little! James, you will be so ready for that marathon in sept. you could run it next week. Your training is phenomenal. What schedule do you follow?

From JD on Sun, Apr 19, 2009 at 18:12:09 from 32.176.218.50

Thanks Carolyn - Hopefully this weather works its way over to you soon...

Lysa - Oh, I'm chillin'. I know I'll be ready for the marathon. If I had to run one today though I would never had made it. Bit that's how it goes. You train, you learn, you improve.

I don't follow a schedule. I just make weekly mileage goals, build to those, take an easy week. I do speedwork based on how my body's doing on any given day. This blog has helped a ton in that reading everyone elses experiences in their training serves as a roadmap for me to base my training on.
