"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Dang JD. You are going to KILL the Salt Lake half. Awesome run!

thanks Lysa - i'll probably not run the sl half. they ask way too much money for registration which usually doesn't bug me if it's an all around good race. but the organizers take our money, and then don't pay vendors in a timely fashion, if at all. i figure i can find a race that costs half as much and treats the runners and vendors better. it's a shame because i really like the course and the volunteers are great.

Oh really? I thought most of the money went to the police bc they have to basically shut down the city. I hate the cost of it too. Its as much as a marathon. Maybe there's another one thats cool. I love that course though. except mile 11.

Maybe we should just do our own half. You can get like an hour ahead of me and then just sit on the road and wait. Then when I finally show up, you can cheer. That would be cool.

Then we can go eat at Soup Kitchen just for some more cool fun. Say Hi to Greg and stuff. Maybe Shauna will be there. And maybe even Holly. That would be a total score. What a cool day we could have.
