I went to bed early last night because I was feeling like I was coming down with something. Achy joints, stiff neck etc. I got 8 1/2 hrs of sleep, felt alright in the morning but by the end of the day I felt really quite ill. I got home and took a two hour nap and felt much better. I thought I'd play it safe and just run an easy 6 on the treadmill.

I'll probably take my rest day tommorrow and run short on Saturday. Then hopefully a long run (12-15 miles) on Sunday if I feel better.

Hope you feel better soon. Your body has been taking a lot of new stress, a little illness isn't too surprising. Take it easy and you'll be fine soon.

Thanks Chad. Yeah, I figure this is inevitable given that I've gone from 20-25 mpw to 50-60 mpw over a three month period. Plus it's the most I've run, this consistently, in my life. I came down with this fluish thing about a month ago. It only took a couple of days to lick, and I was able to "run through it". The key is recognizing something's amiss asap and taking steps to keep it from blowing up. I love how hyper sensitive I am to my body and my health now.
