"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Easy 8. Early lunch run on the Bluff trail. Sunny, mid 60's,  good wind. Legs were, unfortunately, napping while I ran. 9:10 avg.

One of my favorite mid-day snacks: A can of Great Northern Beans. Nutrition: Approximately 385 calories, 66.5 grams carbohydrates, 21 grams protein, and a good dose of Iron as well. Best enjoyed cold, direct from the can. It's a good thing.

You are not giving the same kind of advice here as canned spinach are you? Bc last time I listened to you I almost puked.

You should treat yourself someday and heat them up, maybe add some cheese and onion. Yum.

Beans, beans, the musical fruit . . .

Dude! That's twice the carbohydrates of a Snickers bar. Once it hits the bloodstream, as far as your pancreas is concerned (insulin), it's all the same: sugar. But wait. You need to subtract the fiber grams from the carb grams. Maybe then it would only be one Snickers bar.
