"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

AM - Easy 8 / 9:24 avg. Progression run. From work. Mostly sunny, 35F, windy out of the North. Proud of myself for exercising a little discipline over my pace today. If it's just for miles, and not a workout, there's no reason to push the pace.

Splits: 10:05, 9:53, 9:38, 9:27, 9:20, 9:07, 8:55, 8:42..

I'm proud of you for being disciplined. I'm sure thats tough, Good job. I could have kept up with you today for your first 5 miles! Now go read about death and tragedy.

I'm currently reading about werewolves, which inherently involves death and tragedy.

So are you liking Eclipse? Are you team Jacob or Team Edward?

From JD on Wed, Jan 19, 2011 at 17:06:33 from 70.96.78.149

Not those. It's a book called "Shiver" by an unknown author: Maggie Stiefvater. It's a very original story, which I prefer over the same old formulas.

I was thinking the same thing. I could have kept up with you today!

Based on your run yesterday you could have beat me by a lot. My easy runs range anywhere in the 9 to 10 min avg. per mile.
