"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

From JD on Tue, Sep 21, 2010 at 15:03:56 from 70.96.78.157

It took 7 miles until I felt good. Always worth the effort though.

That's a long time to put up with troublesome miles. Good on ya, mate.

Old Led Zep songs are like drugs to me!

I still think they should blast that song at the start of Mountain Mist.

From Lysa on Wed, Sep 22, 2010 at 11:55:21 from 174.52.25.64

There was a truck blasting Zeppelin in the canyon of the TOU, I Loved it. I said to Stac, I wish someone would blast Zeppelin the whole course, how cool would that be?

From Nevels on Wed, Sep 22, 2010 at 12:05:42 from 155.74.2.253

i agree. we need to get in touch with Dink (the RD)

'twould be cool to hear it blasting through the hollows of the mountain throughout the race...

Hmmm, when you put it that way, maybe best not to disturb the serene sounds of Mother Nature at work.

From Lysa on Wed, Sep 22, 2010 at 12:11:59 from 174.52.25.64

Okay, well maybe just at water stops then. Just for a little added boost.
