"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Hey, a nice long speedy run! Gloves already? Yikes, its cold for you already. I think you got more than the furnace up and running; sounds like you got your runner back too.

I finally got out of the house to take my daughter to preschool and was shocked to see snow in the mountains! SNOW.

Today is perfect running weather indeed, I am glad you enjoyed it for a nice little speedy run.

cloudy? light drizzle? nice running weather? haha. i ran through a complete rain/snow/winter mix BLIZZARD/SHOWER this morning. frozen face, frozen hands, sloshy feet. i wouldn't say "nice" weather, but definitely "adventurous" and "crazy"...i should have waited until lunchtime. or maybe i shouldn't have moved to logan :) nice run today. feeling 100% recovered?

Thanks Auntieem - I'm a wimp when it comes to cold hands, so it doesn't mean a lot that I wore gloves today.

Kelli - yeah! Snow in the hills here too. Seems like we get one or two early storms like this, with nice Fall weather in between, before real Winter sets in.

Allie - thanks. You'll probably thrive as a runner in Logan's Winter conditions! I'm not feeling 100%, but getting there.

That's quite an elevation gain/drop. Good on ya.

I tend to put on long pants when I put on long sleeves. I'm not quite brave enough for shorts when it's cold enough for long sleeves and gloves.

From JD on Thu, Oct 01, 2009 at 14:18:17 from 70.96.78.157

Carolyn - I'm comfortable in shorts down to about 40F if there's no wind. Last Winter I went for a short run in 35F, but the sun was out. That was too chilly.
