"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

I was just looking at your goals on the side of the blog. If you've not been to this site it lists several of the 100 milers around the nation. http://www.run100s.com/

Good luck with your 100M goal!

Lysa - well, yeah.

LETC - Thanks for the link. I see you're an accomplished ultra runner! Good luck with your current goals.

run100s.com is an excellent site, and if you're really looking to kill some time, check out ultrunr.com (funny spelling, good site)

got any 100's in mind already?

April - it was a nice Monday for a run!

Nevels - thanks. I've been combing through Sayer's sight for the last little while. I know this sounds a little naive coming from an ultra virgin like myself, but I am really hoping to get into Wasatch next year. We'll see. I've got GV 50K in Oct. Then I'll probably do the Buffalo Run 50 miler next Spring.

awesome. sounds like a good progression. the 50k will be no problem for you (seriously, easier than a marathon). jim's 50-miler should be a fun race, and wasatch would be epic, especially as a first 100. i'm jealous...

...then get on out here and run it sometime. Your room and board will be fully sponsored. Of course It is a ten minute drive from my house to the starting line so...
