"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

nice run. Feels good to have the freedom to do whatever you feel like.

WHAT, pray tell, is Free Mileage? TEACH ME Master Yoda.

From JD on Thu, Oct 28, 2010 at 19:28:49 from 32.176.227.148

By "free mileage pass" I just mean that since I ran a "50k" last weekend, I get to do whatever I want mileage wise this week. I could run zero miles for the week and be okay with that. I'd go nuts if I tired to run zero miles though, so I'm running some.

From JD on Thu, Oct 28, 2010 at 19:59:28 from 32.176.227.148

That's 8 "I's" in that last paragraph for those keeping count.

From Kelli on Thu, Oct 28, 2010 at 20:07:07 from 71.219.65.246

I see what you mean, I suppose. But I am wondering how sore you are from last week? I am not really that sore, but I have been a bit tired. I think that I am looking forward to a break next week---I get a Free Mileage week. I am excited.

That is 9 for me. Although "I" should not be talking about myself on your blog.

From JD on Thu, Oct 28, 2010 at 20:58:30 from 32.176.200.151

I don't mind at all. I'm not sore either but I still feel lingering fatigue, not body fatigue really, just an overall feeling of being tired. I'm psyched for you to be getting a week off from running, though it sounds like you'll be getting plenty of activity. I'm still astounded at you running accomplishments this year. I, I, I, I just don't know what to say.

From Kelli on Fri, Oct 29, 2010 at 09:54:07 from 71.219.65.246

I have been feeling that running fatigue for over a month, so I get it!!! I really am in need of some time off. It was a good year, not the "fun" resting year i had planned. Maybe next year....

Enjoy your break of nor pressure, rest up. Have a good Halloween! Do you dress up the dogs? Our neighbors do that.

From auntieem on Fri, Oct 29, 2010 at 11:43:48 from 98.247.176.184

Enjoy the "free" mileage. Its fun to run AMOK sometimes. Glad your recovery has gone so well.

What I always love about the recovery period is: more sleep!
