6.2 miles / 9:00 avg. Early lunch run from work and about. Recovery run. Crazy beautiful weather.

Pre-race high performance diet:

Day before: chocolate donuts, doritos, frozen burritos (nuked, of course), fruit, maybe some rice.

The morning of the race: banana, slice of wheat bread, one frozen burrito.

Add edit: I delved into the abyss, and picked up my race packet. Glad that's over with.

Is that really what you are going to do? Your short term running goals section says "eat well". Maybe you should change that to: "establish a completely debilitating pre race diet". Oh, you forgot to include coffee and soda.

what kind of frozen burrito? are you serious about that? I will have a banana and a piece of wheat toast with a bit of pb on it. No burrito. Night before, probably a veggie pizza. The Pie has an awesome one.

This diet is an improvement over a couple of years ago. I eat a lot of fruit now and you'll notice, no fast food. I quit soda years ago. Coffee is just a given, like breathing.

The burritos are Lynn Wilson, bean and cheese. They have magical powers.

Oh, and those donuts have like 80 grams of carbs.

you would not want to run anywhere near me if i were on that diet. i am glad you have an iron stomach.

running SLC? full or half? good luck. glad you survived packet pick-up. i get major anxiety about expos. as you recall, we met while waiting for the TOU expo to open. i always get there way early so i can get out before the crowds come.

From allie on Thu, Apr 15, 2010 at 19:59:48 from 67.177.0.102

oh, you are doing the half yo! i should read before i type. bad habit.

From JD on Thu, Apr 15, 2010 at 20:26:29 from 32.176.195.76

Thanks Allie. Should be a good race for me. Yeah, the pointless expo. I wish there were a better way to get my bib and chip. I would pay a couple of extra bucks to have it mailed to me. I got there 20 minutes early. Once I got my stuff, I slipped out a service door in the back of the building because my car was parked on that side and the meter was running out.
