10 miles. 80 degrees, mostly cloudy, light wind from WSW.

5 mile tempo (target pace 8:30). After 2 mile warmup: 8:42, 8:34, 8:36, 8:12, 8:16, (42:20/8:28 avg.). Then a couple of recovery miles, then last mile in 8:33.

Felt sluggish to start but really strong once I got into a rhythm.

Crud, that is hot. Did it get hot our there? It was very cool this morning, I was hoping it would stay that way.

Nice job on the tempo! You hit your target pretty dead on, and even had more left for mile 10. NICE!

Great job hitting your target. Even though each mile varied a little, the average for the whole tempo was spot on. And what Kelli said about having more left to hit that pace again on the last mile.

You really are running very strong these days and will have a great race at TOU.

Kelli - thanks. It was cloudy so it felt good, plus, I've been doing a lot of running in much warmer temps this summer.

Thank Carolyn - I hope to be running stronger in a couple of weeks.

I am a broken record about the heat....sorry. I can feel fall, though. The morning is so nice, you should really try a 5 am run!!

Kelli - I love my early morning runs. But I also love my sleep. I can feel a little bit of Fall coming too! It's my favorite season.

Two weeks...looking forward to it!
