"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

10 miles / 1:26:24 / 8:38 avg. Hazy sunshine, 32 degrees. One mile boardwalk loops at the nature preserve. (Had the place to myself).

Intentional progression run. It's a challenge to try to increase you pace each mile by just a little, because if you increase too much from one mile to the next, it's hard to keep up.

Mile splits: 9:29, 9:02, 8:57, 8:48, 8:38, 8:38, 8:28, 8:15, 8:05, 7:57.

wait a minute, are you doing this bc coleman decided to train yesterday? So now you have to go run 10? Why dont you just go run 10 1/2 marathons btwn now and then...Im still going to be on "team derum" and I really do hope you puke. just bc that would be cool.

Thanks all!

Lysa - No, this is just normal running. My training is focused on the Ogden marathon in May, one month after the SL half. I'll probably just train through the half and use it as a good speed workout. And hopefully kick Coleman's butt in the process! Lol! Seriously though, I'm glad he's training for it. I'm counting on him to really push me to a fast time.

Did you lap the reserve 10 times? I have done that at 21 street pond, but not ten times.

Nice run! I have yet to be able to do a good progression run.

Nice perfect progression run! Who knows where that would end if you went 20 miles? Something to think about, eh?
